More Than Volleyball: Be Everything You Are
I wanted to welcome you to my blog, where I will be writing about a number of different things, from sports, to music, fashion, food, relationships, travel, fitness, health, meditation, and much more. Many of you know me as a volleyball player, but there is so much more to me than that. I am more than volleyball. I would like to introduce you guys to the other parts of me. Parts of me that I've hidden for too long because I was afraid to be different. Too scared to claim who I really am, and not just cling to who people think I am supposed to be. I have always loved being athletic and tall, and a "beast" on the court, as people would say. But I have also always loved to sing, to dance, to be artistic. I love fashion and writing songs, seeing musicals and plays. I love meditating and doing yoga, learning about spirituality and the science of the body. But I rarely exposed those parts of me before. I just stayed where it felt comfortable.
Recently though, I have broken down some of the barriers that held me back from doing the things that set my soul on fire. A year ago, I was fortunate enough to meet some amazing people who have helped me bring my dreams to life, particularly in music. I was able to write and record my very first EP (half an album) and released it back in May. It truly has been the best feeling to come into my true self. Even if people don't resinate with my music or my style, it doesn't matter. I am finally free and confident enough to be who I really am. Just like volleyball, recording music is a never ending learning experience; you can always get better. I love that about life, if you embrace it, life stays an adventure with never ending possibilities. I love that you can truly be whoever you want to be. I firmly believe that if you dream it, you can do it.
I am starting this blog to hopefully encourage readers to do what they have been dreaming of doing their whole life. To try something new. And to most importantly, not limit yourself. I desire most to motivate and empower people. So if you're interested, stick around and be encouraged!
